Author Cate Rubenstein’s third book for middle-grade readers, Voices in Pop Music: Taylor Swift came out Aug 11, 2026, in Spanish and English but was already sold out in pre-sale! Cate is now Artist-in-Residence in the South of France, hard at work on book four—no spoilers!

The Lightning People Play, a novel by Tim Cummings, recently won another award. Readers’ Favorite crowned it with the Bronze Medal in the Young Adult Social Issues category. The novel explores creativity, collaboration, and neurodivergence via a slew of brilliant theatre kids who put up a play to raise money for a seizure alert dog for a friend who has epilepsy, and their play opens a portal.

Kathleen Long Bostrom’s 59th book was published by Tommy Nelson Books in February, 2026. The book, See What God Made: A Creation Story Lift-the-Flap Book, is one of five finalists in the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) KidLit Published Picture Books category. The winner will be announced September 12.
