Be heard.

Whether you’re a PAL member, independently published, or pre-published, Kite Tales wants your stories about your experiences in kid lit. Writers, illustrators, translators, editors, publishers, agents, teachers, librarians, and more welcome!

Kite Tales is the blog of the Central California, Los Angeles, and Southern California regions of SCBWI. We feature standalone articles and series by the regions’ members on any subject as long as it relates to the craft or business of creating books for children. With over 3,000 subscribers, writing for Kite Tales is a chance to gain exposure and expand your own network while helping your kidlit colleagues grow.

If you have someone you’d like to interview, technique tips to share, or a unique perspective on industry practices, please reach out to us at scbwila.editor@gmail.com. If you’re interested in writing but don’t have a topic in mind, email us anyway and we’ll help you brainstorm ideas! We accept and publish articles year round.

For other ways to contribute to Kite Tales, check out our Submissions page. We can’t wait to hear from you!
