Registration for the SCBWI SoCal 2025 Fall Harvest Writers and Illustrators Day is now open! “Writers and illustrators are invited to a full day of speaker presentations, written critiques, pitches and mingling with fellow creatives! We’ll have agents, an editor, an art director, published authors and an illustrator.” This hybrid event will be held on October 4, 2025, at California State University Fullerton, Titan Student Union, AND via Zoom. JULY 12
Join the SCBWI SoCal Illustrator Meet-Up for a portfolio review with Aram Kim and her presentation titled “Building the Perfect Portfolio That Will Catch Publishers’ Eyes: Do’s and Don’ts.” Aram Kim is a writer, illustrator, art director, and designer of children’s books with 10 years of experience in publishing. The online Zoom meeting will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pacific Time. JULY 13
Register for SCBWI-LA Beyond the Brush: Visual Storytelling for the Modern Picture Book Market, “an illustrator and author-illustrator in-person event with Agent Kait Feldmann!” This one-day event will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Holy Spirit Retreat Center (4316 Lanai Rd. SEPTEMBER 7
The Los Angeles Kids’ Book Festival returns on September 7, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at West Hollywood Park (647 N San Vicente Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069). This free event will feature a variety of vendors, author readings, performances, live music, and giveaways! If you are interested in being a vendor, click the link here.
